John and Rachel Compton, Married September 5, 2009

On September 5, 2009 my dear friends John Compton and Rachel Kuipers were married at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood, CO. I was honored when they chose me to be their photographer to tell the story of their wedding day and their love. Fox Hollow was a beautiful setting for the event, and the love between the couple resinated for everyone to see, I think they are a beautiful match and compliment eachother perfectly. I wish them happiness for many years to come.

Below are a few of my favorite images from the wedding day, also be sure and check out the work of my new second shooter Lashley Rhodes below, as well as the infamous Rainbow shot that magically happened on John and Rachel's wedding day. And, not to toot my own horn, but I am pretty sure that is the best jumping photo anyone has ever seen. If you'd like to see the images larger, please click on the thumbs.

Introducing my Second Shooter, Miss Lashley Rhodes

I knew there would come a time when I would need to hire a Second Shooter to work beside me at weddings. Well, the time came a few weeks ago at the wedding of John and Rachel Compton.

I met Lashley a few days after I moved back to Denver, and a week later I was able to see some of the images she had taken at a good friends wedding, she wasn't a paid photographer, she had simply taken the pictures because she enjoyed it. On that day, I realized that when it came down to hiring a second shooter, I would do everything to have her come on board with me and Lashley and I soon became friends.

So, on September 5th, Lashley Rhodes and I photographed our first wedding together. And I couldn't be more pleased! Her images are peaceful and poetic, and she has knack for capturing spontaneous moments in a photojournalistic and artful without being too intrusive...basically she is a dream. Now my only challenge is keeping her as long as I can, hopefully forever.

Lashleys day job is working with Autistic children, she is also a crafter and just generally an amazingly creative person. If you would like to learn more about Lashley Rhodes or just tell her how great she is, you can visit her blog here. Below are a few of my favorite images that Lashley did from John and Rachel's wedding. To see the images larger, please click on the thumbs.

John and Sara Knippa, Married: August 15, 2009

Last weekend I had the privilege of photographing John and Sara on their wedding day. This couple has a beautiful love story, and I truly believe that they were made for each other. They were married at Saint Cajetan’s Church on the beautiful Auraria Campus in Downtown Denver.  They had a beautiful ceremony that celebrated their love for each other, their love for God, and the blessing of love that God has given them.  After the ceremony, the space was transformed and the newly married couple and their friends and family celebrated in full style at the reception.  This was a beautiful and fun wedding day, and I was so honored to be a part of it. Below are some of my favorite images from the day, click on the thumbs to see them larger.
